this was an experiment. (not entirely sure it's even anime..) i discovered a couple brushes i hadn't ever used before and this is where they lead me

I tried to stretch my own style in a different direction, & im happy w/ how it came out. there are plenty of little technical things wrong with it, but the feeling is right.

took 5-7 hours, done in Pixia

Aww this is so cute! October celebratory picture, I really like how the color scheme turned out, especially the wings. Do you have a tablet? I love them *_* James got me one and i couldnt believe it.

I love the overall effect of the pencil shading and the coloring of the image.
Great job on the pencil lines.
fab job on directing the main detail and attention to the face/wings/pumpkin
though not my favorite style of art... it certainly is one of a kind for the style.

a certain something that bother's me as in style wise... would be that it is... not exactly a realism... and it's not exactly a cartoon either... personally if i were going to draw something similar to what you did... just as a personal preference rather than utter dislike of the other, i would be drawing it for a realism. The style you did is very nice, it turned out pretty good. but for some reason i can't help but see it as just an advanced sketch...
the styles that i like better... seem to be realism... and then the more... "conservative" area of abstract... as well as some many other things... and subject matter... would be Ethereal, Surreal and Fantasy are my fav. subject contents

interesting..... never thought of it that way, but yea i see what u mean, and i agree to parts of it. I don't think i have the patience for real realism, tho- unless i'm drawing from life or a photo or something like that. i have the same fav. subject contents, most of the time anyway. hehe. well as i said, it was an experment- so we shall see what happens in the future.

oh... you wouldn't mind if i saved and maybe stylelized it differently... and placing it in my sketchbook... would you?
of course you'd be mencioned as the creator of the actual image... but i would like to see if there's some other style i could come up for that that I might like more.
