Death Angel

Here's how I see it, as well as what inspired me to draw it.

She essentially takes a person's life to save them. She hates to see the ending of a life, because she knows it is good, and she loves life in general... maybe she wants a life of her own. But she hates pain and suffering more, so it's the only way she can help the people who are beyond help.

Death- because she takes their life. It's not the same thing as " killing". Perhaps the people she comes to have already died, and she's guiding their souls to somehwhere safe. I don't know for sure. Angel- because she's taking away their pain. Saving them. Freeing them.

There is a light behind her, coming out from the dark. The place where the boy was lying shines with the same light, although it is stained with blood. She is clothed in black like one who is mourning, and her complexion form is thin and pale... and yet she appears to be healthy, and is beautiful.

It is a mixture of pain and relief, life and death, ruin and a new beginning.

That's how I see it.. there's a lot of room for interpretation or to combine with your own beliefs. Have a blast.

p.s. the reason it reminds everyone of pieta is because a) its a woman holding a dead boy/man, and b) I used pictures of pieta for how to draw him.
